Our Values

OUR VALUES

We believe in creating projects through collaboration and cooperation - not through imposed, hierarchical structures.

In September 2022, we held a 'camp out', in which, amongst other things, we spoke about what we would like our culture as an organisation to be. What follows are thoughts that came out of our group process, and commitments we would like to work towards.
We therefore aspire to hold ourselves as an organisation to the following principles:

  • Committing to learning about how as individuals we benefit from racial, gender, able-bodied or class privileges, and how we can actively counter that in our work.

  • Being good listeners who are willing to hear critique

  • Understanding that there is not one way to do things

  • Focussing on care

  • Acknowledging diverse cultural practices and indigenous knowledge systems which have informed our work

  • Giving a platform to groups led by voices which have been marginalised

  • Actively de-constructing capitalism by creating other alternatives

  • Seeking out training to improve our practices and understanding

  • Evaluating and changing our practices and aspirations as we learnNew Paragraph

We're looking into funding to translate some of our resources into different languages, so as to be more accessible to more communities.

We want to be a welcoming organisation that is willing to change and make our spaces and events safer. We want to involve more, different voices. We want to keep learning. Please let us know if there is anything you think we could do better.

We'd love to hear from you if you think you can help - we appreciate critique and proposals to work with us.
