The Dumfries and Galloway Sustainable Food Partnership is bringing together organisations from across sectors: Public sector such as the Local Authority and NHS, representatives from food business networks, farmers, community and voluntary sector and education.

We aim to work together for a fairer, healthier, and more resilient food system.

We have a monthly newsletter, DG Good Food News; and a a strong social media following on facebook, D&G Good Food.

D&G Good Food Latest News

Growing the Local Food Economy


We have been working collaboratively with partners on an ambitious project to grow, support and develop the regional local food economy across the South of Scotland.


On Thursday 20 March we held a food and drink industry stakeholder event, Growing the Local Food Economy - with networking, speakers, industry insights and plenty of discussion to stimulate and generate actions.

A sister event was held near Kelso on Thursday 27 March.


We have supported a landscape assessment of the food and drink industry, and a raft of scoping studies to support small producers in local supply chains. The studies we have contributed to this work are:

  • Increasing Fruit and Vegetable Production in Dumfries and Galloway
  • On-farm Organic Butchery Feasibility Study
  • Increasing the resilience of the Galloway Food Hub


We've pulled together a Regional Local Food Growth Plan, with a clear pathway for change.


This work has been funded by Sustain, and South of Scotland Enterprise.
